An in home consultation was scheduled after a referral was made to our client in regards to our services. During this first meeting, challenges and frustrations about the overall space were discussed and what goals could be addressed during our allotted time on the project. An action plan was set to have 2 organizers spend 2, 5- hour days to target the issues at hand. Prior to starting, our organizers selected appropriate supplies to help de-clutter, re-organize and set up systems to help our client maintain order moving forward.
We commenced with a basement de-clutter which included a home office, family/game room, laundry room and 2 storage room cupboards. Clear bins were used to organize like items such as tools, mementos and photographs. Labels were placed on each bin for reference and accessibility.
Once the family room was de-cluttered, we repurposed the existing shelving unit to better organize toys and crafts. Drawer storage was designated to smaller supplies such as chargers, sunglasses and small electronics due to the proximity of the home’s entryway. Clear plastic drawer organizers from the dollar store, were used to keep items tidy within the space. A letter tray and filing system were set into action to manage all incoming household documents. Additional shelving was added to an existing shed in order to maximize vertical space and store de-cluttered items for the entryway.
