Iâm a minimalist by nature. Anything that I can eliminate thatâs causing clutter in my otherwise scant world I find another home for. The funny thing is, Iâve only gotten myself into trouble with this impetuous habit when it comes to all things paperless. Nothing makes me happier than seeing a clean inbox. However, just like regular snail mail, Iâve had to learn the hard way that all correspondence needs organizingâ¦paperless or not!
Nothing is more gratifying than seeing all mail cleared out and accounted for. However, just because the mail has been read doesnât necessarily mean itâs dealt with. The following link is a great piece on how to recognize if youâre a âdasherâ or a âbingerâ, what the difference is and how to assess each piece of information in a more efficient manner.
Now that youâve been able to sort through your âbloatedâ box of email, the second step is to get it organized. Thank goodness for foldersâ¦and more folders!
The key to keeping all of this information is filing it appropriately. Just think of how you keep your paper documents in order-the same applies for e-mail. All e-mail accounts come with the tools to create folders and subfolders allowing for efficient access. Learning a system that is functional for you will leave your data readily available when the time comes to utilize it once more. Donât be shy when creating folders- specifics make it easier to locate your mail. If you feel like a folder is no longer needed, simply delete or rename it.
Just like our homes, our inboxes need the same maintenance. Purging and sorting are key to keeping the bloat at bay! If youâre still searching for an effective email management system, feel free to contact us at 647-449-1248 or firstname.lastname@example.org for a free telephone consult.
